CB Hoyo was born in 1995 in Havana, Cuba. At a young age, he immigrated to the Dominican Republic, and now lives in Europe. His artistic process began as a child, when he started interpreting the world through his paintings. Over the past few years, his work has increased in stature. A self-trained artist, CB Hoyo continually produces works that celebrate life itself. Fresh, colorful, and fun are three words that easily describe his creations. Working with any medium on any material, the artist uses a mixture of art historical trends but always incorporates his unique voice. CB Hoyo is making a proper mark on the current art scene. Some of his works are already exhibited in private and public collections in 6 continents.

During Miami Art Week 2018, CB HOYO showcased his “Real Fake Gallery” at the launch of The Art Plug’s first ever, The Art Plug Power House, a 40,000 square foot interactive art showcase. Inspired by breaking news that depicts the international art arena as a systematic destination for drug cartels to launder money through, CB HOYO expressed, through a multi-dimensional work, how devious the world of art and its players can be, and the possibility for multiple international art galleries to be used as secret cover-ups.

Similar to his activation at The Art Plug Power House, CB HOYO highlighted “Real Art Gallery” at Art Palm Beach 2019 staged inside two rooms, decorated with counterfeit works of art, and led by a gallerist. Designing the tour in a way for his audience to interact with it, CB HOYO produced the second room as an operations studio of forgery, where an actor is screen-printing and creating imitation Andy Warhol works.
